“We are grateful to Capricorn District Municipality (CDM), Pick ‘n Pay and Pick ‘n Pay School Club for having visited us today. Ratladi appreciated the gifts donated to the creche during aa Early Childhood Development awareness campaign which started on 21 June 2022.
CDM, Pick ‘n Pay and Pick ‘n Pay School Club were conducting an Early Childhood Development(ECD) awareness for local municipalities within the Capricorn District starting in Polokwane. The awareness will be running from 21 to 24 June 2022. The institutions are visiting Early Childhood Development centres in the district to create an awareness on good environment for learning and communicable diseases in communities.
The focus was on improving the challenges of poor sanitation, poor hygiene and improper waste management at the learning environment and communities.
“Given the close relationship between safe water, good sanitation and improved health status, as a municipality, it is our responsibility to reach out to you and ensure that our children are safe away from home, and hope for a change in risky health behaviours to prevent water-borne diseases such as typhoid fever, cholera and others,” said Cllr. Solly Matlatji, Member of Mayoral Committee for Strategic Executive Management Services.
These stakeholders will visit twenty creches in the district to donate, a R5000 Pick ‘n Pay voucher, hand sanitisers, hand washes, puzzles promoting hand washing.
