CDM EMPLOYEES PARTICIPATED IN THE NATIONAL ARCHIVISTS CONFERENCE

On 09 July 2026, employees from Capricorn District Municipality’s Registry Unit, within the Corporate Services Department, participated in the South African Society of Archivists (SASA) Annual Conference held at Bolivia Lodge in Polokwane.

The four-day conference brought together archivists, records management practitioners, librarians and information professionals from across South Africa and neighbouring countries to exchange knowledge and explore innovative approaches to archives and records management.

Discussions focused on key topics including developing community archives curricula for the digital era, digital archival record keeping in the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR), and the role of effective records management in supporting good governance and achieving clean audits.

The conference provided an important platform for professional development, knowledge sharing and the promotion of best practices in records and information management. It was attended by SASA President Dr Maite Manganye, expert speakers from Zambia, Zimbabwe, Botswana and Malawi, as well as representatives from the United Nations.

Capricorn District Municipality remains committed to strengthening institutional excellence by investing in the continuous development of its employees and promoting efficient records management as a cornerstone of transparent and accountable service delivery.
