CDM donates PPEs to traditional leaders

The Executive Mayor Cllr John Mpe handed over protective equipment to 26 traditional authorities across the District to curb the transmission of Covid-19. Each Moshate received a 25l of sanitizer, detergents, masks and thermo sensors. The handover that took place on 07 July 2020, follows a massive extensive donation of the same material to schools during the month of June 2020.

“We have resolved to share with you what we received from sponsors and like-minded partners. When we started fighting this virus, we established a food bank to share with needy poor households in all your areas and we managed to distribute over 20 000 food parcels across all our local municipalities and also reached out to schools to donate personal protective equipment (PPEs) across the District”, said Mpe.

Mpe appealed to magoshi to help reinforce the message and encourage communities in rural areas to observe safety protocols and protect themselves. “We are therefore pleased to donate these massive liters of sanitizer, masks and detergents, thermo sensors to you. In addition, we will be visiting all traditional offices and your homes for decontamination and disinfection”, he said.
