Absa donates R63.1m aid for deserving students

With the cost of delivering university education close to R50 billion a year, a donation by Absa to universities in Pretoria and Limpopo came as a welcome respite.

Yesterday ABSA contributed millions to the university of limpopo in scholarship funding to support financially needy students in undergraduate degrees on the basis of their academic excellence.

The money will be allocated to students undertaking a three-year undergraduate degree in commerce, humanities, engineering or science and technology studies.

The Executive Mayor John Mpe was there to give support. This has been part of the commitment to education and skills development. “We welcome this kind of support coming from ABSA”
