Capricorn District Municipal Planning Tribunal met today for the 1st time. The tribunal gazetted on 07 July 2017 consist of 14 members. The tribunal consist of 10 professionals from outside and 4 officials from CDM, Blouberg, Molemole and Lepelle-Nkumpi Municipalities. Their term of office is for 2 years starting from 07 July 2017.
The external members of the tribunal are from various professions such as, lawyers, advocates, researchers, agriculturalists, environmentalists and regional planners. The tribunal’s duties include amongst others; consideration of development applications for approval, impose any reasonable conditions, including conditions related to the provision of engineering services and the payment of any development charges, make an appropriate determination regarding all matters necessary or incidental to the performance of its functions in terms of the Spatial planning and land use management Act and provincial legislation, conduct necessary investigation.
