Capricorn District Municipality Executive Mayor, Cllr Mamedupi Teffo, joined the Minister of Water and Sanitation, Hon. Pemmy Majodina, Deputy Minister Dr David Mahlobo, Limpopo MEC for CoGHSTA Pule Shayi and Blouberg Local Municipality Mayor, Cllr Maria Thamaga, for the official handover of the completed Dilaeneng and Maokeng Water Projects on 06 September 2026.
Valued at a combined R23.1 million, the projects will benefit 842 households through improved access to reliable and clean water services. The projects included the development of boreholes, pump houses, water pipelines and standpipes, strengthening water infrastructure and bringing essential water services closer to communities.
A highlight of the handover was seeing clean water flowing from the newly completed standpipes at Dilaeneng, marking the fulfilment of a long-awaited commitment to improve access to this basic service.
Indeed water is life. These projects represent an important step towards improving the quality of life and ensuring sustainable water services for the people of Blouberg.
