The Taking the Legislature to the People (TLTTP) Programme was held in Blouberg Local Municipality from 31 August to 03 September 2026, bringing the Limpopo Provincial Legislature closer to communities and key stakeholders.
The Executive Mayor of Capricorn District Municipality, Cllr Mamedupi Teffo, joined the Speaker of the Limpopo Legislature, Dr Makoma Makhurupetje, during the programme, which focused on strengthening public participation, development and accountability in Blouberg.
The four-day programme provided a platform for engagements with traditional leaders, communities and various stakeholders, including Magoshi, businesses, community structures, youth and churches.
Held under the theme, “Deepening public participation to advance development and accountability in Blouberg Local Municipality,” the programme enabled communities to raise issues affecting their daily lives while contributing to discussions on development and service delivery.
The initiative reaffirmed the commitment to bringing government closer to the people and ensuring that communities have a meaningful voice in matters affecting their lives and the development of their municipality.
