Capricorn District Municipality hosted a two-day Organisational Strategic Planning Session held from 7-8 May 2026 at Zebula Estate, focused on shaping future development priorities, catalytic projects and programmes aimed at improving service delivery across the district.
The strategic engagement brought together political leadership and administration from all four local municipalities under CDM β Polokwane, Blouberg, Lepelle-Nkumpi and Molemole Local Municipalities β to align plans and strengthen implementation through the District Development Model (DDM).
The programme was facilitated by MMC Cllr Sammy Selamolela, who led strategic discussions throughout the session.
Delivering the opening remarks, CDM Executive Mayor Cllr Mamedupi Teffo emphasised the need for unity, collaboration and decisive implementation to drive development within the district.
βThe District Development Model remains central to our work. Through the One Plan, we have already identified catalytic projects that can transform our district. What is required now is coordinated and efficient implementation,β said Mayor Teffo.
The Executive Mayor further called for the completion of existing projects and programmes while preparing for a smooth transition towards the incoming Council following the upcoming elections in November.
Speaker of Council Cllr Kholofelo Lehong officially welcomed delegates and encouraged meaningful participation during the engagements, while Chief Whip Cllr M.C Masoga acknowledged the presence of political leadership, senior management, municipal officials and stakeholders who attended the planning session.
The session focused on governance, infrastructure development, financial sustainability, service delivery acceleration, institutional alignment and strengthening intergovernmental relations in line with the DDM framework and the Capricorn District One Plan.
