The Executive Mayor of Capricorn District Municipality, Cllr Mamedupi Teffo, attended the official opening of the Netcare Akeso Hospital – Polokwane on 14 April 2026.
She participated in the ribbon-cutting ceremony and welcomed the establishment of the facility, describing it as a significant milestone in strengthening mental health services in Limpopo.
Cllr Teffo commended Netcare for its continued investment in healthcare infrastructure, noting that such partnerships with government play an important role in improving service delivery and restoring dignity within communities.
The newly opened hospital will provide specialised mental health treatment services, expanding access to quality psychiatric care across the province.
