On 04 February 2026, the Executive Mayor Cllr Mamedupi Teffo joined the Premier Dr Phophi Ramathuba, Department of Public Works, Roads and Infrastructure Sebataolo Rachoene, and the Blouberg Mayor Cllr Maria Thamaga, at the Dikgerekgere Wednesday Programme at Earlydawn/old Longside road (D3340). The programme is part of ongoing efforts to bring immediate relief to communities affected by recent flooding.The programme led by Limpopo Premier Dr Phophi Ramathuba also involved the delegation taking a site visit to the D3340 road where government officials assessed damage caused by floods and engage directly with affected residents. The visit forms part of Dikgerekgere Wednesdays, a service delivery campaign aimed at accelerating government response to community challenges.
Premier Ramathuba emphasized the importance of maintaining road infrastructure across the province, stressing that all communities deserve equal prioritisation on service provision. Premier Dr Ramathuba further encouraged communities to work hand in hand with government to ensure the provision of quality services.
The Limpopo Provincial Government says the intervention is intended to provide urgent support while longer-term recovery plans are put in place. The visit highlights the province’s commitment to ensuring relief reaches vulnerable communities during times of crisis.
On the same day the leadership conducted a food parcel distribution at the Inveraan Satellite Office in Blouberg Local Municipality.
The initiative provided much-needed relief to vulnerable households as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen community well-being.
Premier Dr Phophi Ramathuba emphasized the values of unity, compassion, and service to the people, stating:
“Through unity and compassion, we are able to serve our people with dignity and ensure that support reaches those who need it most.”
