Capricorn District Municipality held the first Batho Pele awareness campaign at Langlagte Village in Blouberg Local Municipality on 22 May 2025. The event brought together various government departments such as Social Development, SASSA, Department of Economic Development, Environment and Tourism, IEC, South African Police Service (SAPS) and others.
The main goal is to provide the community an opportunity to receive first hand information from relevant institutions which is a true embodiment of the Batho Pele principle which is putting “People First” to improve public service delivery.
This campaign marks an important step in strengthening communication between government and citizens, ensuring transparency, consultation, and accessibility of services.
It also set the stage for the second local Batho Pele awareness event, which will be held at Molemole Local Municipality on May 29th. This upcoming event will continue the effort to bring essential government services and information closer to the people, fostering active community participation and better service delivery
