Capricorn District Municipality Executive Mayor, Cllr Mamedupi Teffo, joined Limpopo Premier Dr Phophi Ramathuba during a courtesy visit to the Maja Royal Family on 19 February 2026, following the passing of Kgoshi Cecil Maja.The Premier was accompanied by MECs Kgabo Mahoai (Treasury), Florence Radzilani (Social Development), Mavhungu Lerule-Ramakhanya (Education), Tshitereke Matibe (LEDET), and Basikopo Makamu (COGHSTA). Also present were Executive Mayor Cllr Mamedupi Teffo and a representative of Polokwane Executive Mayor, Cllr Jerry Mamabolo.
Kgoshi Cecil Maja passed away on 2 February 2026 at the age of 85 and was laid to rest on Saturday, 14 February 2026.
