HEALTH OFFICIALS CONDUCT FOOD SAFETY BLITZ IN ZEBEDIELA.

On 09 December 2025, Capricorn District Municipality, together with Lepelle-Nkumpi Municipality, conducted a food safety blitz in Zebediela under Lepelle-Nkumpi Local Municipality.
The operation aimed to assess whether local food outlets comply with health and safety regulations.
During the inspections, several violations were uncovered.
These included the sale of expired food products, illegal trading of LPG gas and paraffin, with some paraffin sold in 2-litre sprite cooldrink bottles, posing a serious risk to children.
Inspectors also found food outlets being used as sleeping quarters and noted multiple instances of non-compliance with electrical safety standards.
Authorities say corrective action will follow, to ensure public safety and protect consumers.
