Capricorn District Municipality congratulates the newly elected Mayors, Speakers and Chiefwhips of all local municipalities that were elected on Monday 22 November 2021 during their successful inaugural Council meetings.
The newly elected political office bearers are follows –

CDM also congratulates all other councillors that were elected to serve in these Councils. These leaders collectively carry the hopes and aspirations of the Capricorn District residents, whose plight for better communities rests squarely on the shoulders of these new leaders. CDM therefore wishes them well in their new responsibilities.
Local municipalities are required by the Municipal Structures Act to hold their first Council meeting for the purpose of constituting new Council within 14 days after the IEC has declared election results and all local Municipalities in the District did so successfully without hindrance. District Municipalities are required to hold the same Council meeting for the same purpose within 14 days after Local Municipalities have constituted their new Councils. Accordingly, CDM will hold its first meeting on 26 November 2021 for the swearing-in of its councillors, which include the election of the Executive Mayor.
