This morning Executive Mayor held a prayer session, led by Pastor Sethemane, his wife, Mme Molepo and Pastor Nkoana of Strong Tower Bible Church located in Mankweng next to Paledi. The purpose of the visit was to pray for leadership and management of the institution; for wisdom; for good governance and for development. The Executive Mayor was accompanied by the Speaker of Council, Mme Lekganyane and the Chief Whip Cllr Masoga …together with Acting MM Mme Thuso Nemugumoni.
Pastor Sethemane quoted a verse about king Solomom who once asked God for Wisdom and God said to him “Since you have asked for this and not for long life or wealth for yourself, nor have asked for the death of your enemies but for discernment in administering justice, 12 I will do what you have asked. I will give you a wise and discerning heart, so that there will never have been anyone like you, nor will there ever be. 13 Moreover, I will give you what you have not asked for—both wealth and honor—so that in your lifetime you will have no equal among kings. 14 And if you walk in obedience to me and keep my decrees and commands as David your father did, I will give you a long life.”
The Executive Mayor emphasized that our municipality needs leaders with wisdom and the rest will prosper. As the pastor closes, he quoted a scripture of proverbs chapter 3 verse 5 – 7… “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and shun evil”.
