"Capricorn District Municipality is delighted to be part of an initiative that is aimed at impacting the lives of our communities. This is in line with our motto, Re Shoma le Setshaba meaning we work with the people", this was said by Cllr Jara Masubelele, Member of the Mayoral Committee for SEMS.

Masubelele was speaking during the handing over of donations by The Global Sports Mentoring Program to Botlokwa Special School at Botlokwa in Molemole Municipality held on 11 September 2020.
Giving purpose of the program, Patrick Selepe from Global Sports Mentoring Program, said they realized as individual sporting codes they were not strong hence they formed the organization.

"This is a global sport organization that empower and give opportunity for people to participate in sport. We saw the need to come in and lend a helping hand. This sporting equipments we are handing over today will go a long way towards developing our athletes especially from a young age", said Selepe.
He continued saying that, "we know special schools are not given priorities and who knows, this school may produce a paralympiam one day.

This may not look much but to us sharing is caring. We want to thank the school for opening their doors when we approached them and also our municipalities, Capricorn District and Molemole Local".
Masubelele said, "as Capricorn District Municipality we welcome partnerships that makes a positive impact in communities.

Hence we believe, it takes a village to build a community. This school always has its doors open to warmly welcome with open arms anyone doing good. We thank Global Sports Mentoring Program for the donation"

Thanking the organization for the donations, the various teams coordinators echoed the same sentiments, saying although there were still struggling they highly appreciated the donations. Adding that it was encouraging for children to be involved in sports as it takes them away from the streets. Our children come from financially struggling families and this donation will make a huge difference in their lives.

The organization donated soccer balls, whistlea, flags and gear bag, tennis rackets, tennis balls, basketballs, sanitizers, food parcels for individuals, Jojo tank and food for the special school and a wheelchair for an elderly woman. The recepients included Helena Franz Wheelchair Tennis, Botlokwa Ladies Team of soccer, Tshilidzini Wheelchair Tennis, Polokwane Rhino's Wheelchair Basketball, Vhembe 12 Eagles Wheelchair Basketball, Botlokwa Wheelchair Tennis, Polokwane Wheelchair Tennis and Letaba Wheelchair Tennis.
