Capricorn District Municipality took part in the 2019 World Tourism Market Africa where municipalities, travel agencies and other businesses were selling themselves to prospective tourists and investors from over 70 countries.

The #WTMA2019 saw thousands of eager guests harnessing each and every opportunity to drive growth in the African travel and tourism market and expect some great news to emerge from the market. WTMA is a culturally diverse travel and tourism event that host travel and tourism professionals to connect with leading travel and tourism trade from 10-12 April in Cape Town.

CDM started participating in the WTMA since 2017. Exhibitors from accross the globe presented and positioned their products to international and local markets. Megan Oberholzer of Reed Exhibitions, one of the companies hosting the WTMA2019, says the event got off to an excellent start, with far more opportunities on offer.

CDM officials were interacting with people visiting the municipality's stall to sell the district tourism attraction area to potential visitors and investors, and assure them that Capricorn was ready for business. It was evident during interactions that people were eager to explore what the district had to offer.

Cllr John Mpe - The Executive Mayor
