MPAC visit Malatane Water Supply Project

The oversight work of the Municipal Public Accounts Committee (MPAC) on Municipal projects continued today at Malatane Village in Lepelle-Nkumpi Local Municipality. The committee was led by Chairperson Cllr Paulina Makgato and also joined br Ward Cllr Noah Mmotla.
The Malatane Village Water Supply project scope included earthworks for pipe trenches, medium pressure pipelines and ancillaries, desluging concrete reservoirs tanks, new installation of boreholes at the river, fencing of water infrastructure, water package plant and transfer pumps and fixing burnt pump at the pit.
The project is 100 % complete and the package plant is fully functional. The contractor will be training the pump operators on how to operate the package plant next week to ensure that water gets pumped to the community. Upon training the pump operators will be able to pump water to the community.
The Ward Councilor Noah Mmotla joined the visit to outline to MPAC some of the water challenges in the community. He thanked MPAC for the visit.
