Executive Mayor John Mpe has made changes to the mayoral committee in order to increase the capacity to deliver on the vision of the district municipality.
The changes were made during the ordinary council held on Tuesday and are as follows:
Cllr Maria Mokobodi is the new MMC for Infrastructure. She replaces Cllr Monica Mohale who since took up the position of Council Speaker after the departure of Maria Lekganyane to the Provincial Legislature. Mokobodi is the former mayor of the de-established Aganang Municipality.
Cllr Nomonde Shivambu is the new MMC for Corporate Services. She replaces Cllr Elizabeth Kgatla.
Cllr Kgatla is the new MMC for Sport, Arts and Culture. She replaces the late Cllr Monice Ntsoane.
In congratulating them, EFF’s Cllr Motolla was pleased that all new appointment were women and the composition of the Mayoral Committee approximates the character of the council by having more women.
