DISTRICT EXTENDED IGR FORUM HELD

District  Mayor’s Extended IGR Forum is a forum for all local Mayors in the district, Magoshi, and other stakeholders. It is chaired by the district Executive Mayor, Cllr. Mamedupi Teffo. The structure meets quarterly to look at issues pertaining to service delivery in communities and how best can services be provided in municipalities.
Issues deliberated on in this meeting today are; District Development Model, 2022/2023 Financial year progress to date report on Municipal Infrastructure Grant (MIG) projects and expenditure (Quarter one), progress on 2021/2022 Audit Strategy, DBSA support to municipalities programme, district water projects implemented and future plans, district Eskom projects implemented and future plans.
In attendance was also the Deputy Minister for the Department of Public Service and Administration, Chana Pilane-Majake. Deputy Minister Pilane-Majake applauded stakeholders for working together and encouraged them to be transparent towards one another. She also spoke strongly about the challenge of theft of transformers in communities. “There’s a lot that still needs to be done, we just have to pull together to achieve our goals,” said Pilane-Majake.
Cllr. Mamedupi Teffo thanked all institutions for their participation and inputs on matters discussed during the meeting.
