CONSTRUCTION OF NEW WATER PROJECTS IN BLOUBERG

Water provision is one of the mandate that municipalities have given to them as per the constitution. The Executive Mayor of CDM Cllr Mamedupi Teffo leading Councilors from CDM and Blouberg Municipality were at Malebogo in Blouberg to introduce water projects to the communities of the area. The introduction meeting took place on 17 November 2022.

The water projects which are set to commence soon are to be constructed at Milbank (R37m), Nailana (R22m) and Nairin (R37m .

Speaking during the introduction Cllr. Teffo urged the community not to vandalise the projects and to work together with the two municipalities and the service providers who will be doing the work.

These projects are meant to give relief to a number of households which are currently struggling to get water.

On the other side of Blouberg at Rosenkrantz municipality introduced the Rosenkrantz water supply project at Rosenkrantz in Blouberg led by MMC of Corporate Services, Cllr. Sammy Selamolela. He was joined by the Mayor of Blouberg Municipality, Cllr. Maria Thamaga and MMC Makgalemele of Sports.
The project will be constructing 25 700m water pipeline. It will also equip and electrify 2 boreholes. Installation of water treatment package plant will also be done. The water will be stored in two steel tanks with at capacity of 250kl each with a booster pump. The storage tank will be fenced to avoid vandalism. At completion, the project will install 280 metered taps in the yards. The budget for this project is R42 746 541 Million. Completion date is 15 December 2023.
