Capricorn District Municipality held a mayoral outreach programme at GaMakgato village in Blouberg Municipality on 22 March 2019 at Ga-Makgato Villeage in the Blouberg Local Municipality. This was part of the mayoral outreach programme aimed at engaging community stakeholders on various issues affecting structures within the community.
The structures represented included taxi association, farmers, health workers, moshate, religious groups, ward committes and councillors. Issues raised where on support and training for cooperatives, alcohol and drug abuse at schools, unemployment, water scarcity, old clinic structure, tarring of main roads and education and the fight against crime.
The Executive Mayor appealed for cooperation between government, traditional leaders and the community at large. “Government alone cannot do everything, it is with partnership that we can be able to accomplish better result”, said Executive Mayor.
