COMMUNITY OF CDM ATTEND DDM IMBIZO IN NUMBERS

The District Development Model (DDM) is designed to address problems with service delivery by allowing all the spheres of government, from local municipalities to national government, to work together in a more effective and coordinated way. This is to help municipalities to better plan, budget and implement projects and programmes in communities.
On 26 October 2023, the Community of Capricorn District Municipality came in numbers to attend the DDM Imbizo at Ga-Mankgodi Village under Blouberg Local Municipality. Community members who attended the imbizo had an opportunity to raise their concerns about issues of service delivery in their communities.
The Executive Mayor of CDM Cllr. Mamedupi Teffo, Mayor of Blouberg Cllr. Maria Thamaga, MECs from the various sector departments, the DPSA Deputy Minister Dr Chana Pilane-Majeke, and Premier Stanley Mathabatha responded to all issues raised.
The Executive Mayor gave a district comprehensive one plan progress report about projects that are currently under construction, and what intervention is done where there are challenges.
She emphasized and encouraged people to take care of their infrastructure. “The report I’m giving represents all municipalities under CDM. All these infrastructure projects belongs to you and you need to take care of it. Don’t vandalise, it is for you”.
The Premier of the province, honorable Stanley Mathabatha gave a way forward which was backed by the Deputy Minister of DPSA, Dr Chana Pilane-Majeke.
