CDM bid farewell to Mme Lekganyane and Mahlo

“We appreciate and cherish the fact that you have now become the voice of our provincial and national government”, this was said by the Executive Mayor of Capricorn District Municipality Cllr John Mpe during an official farewell function held in respect of the former councillors, Speaker Mme Nakedi Lekganyane and Patricia Mahlo.

The municipality was bidding farewell to the former councillors Mme Lekganyane and Mahlo, who have now been deployed to serve in both the Limpopo Provincial Legislature and Parliament respectively.

In his farewell speech the Executive Mayor appreciated and cherished the fact that CDM have been chosen, through the deployment of both Cllr Lekganyane and Cllr Mahlo, to become the provincial and national voice of our caring government. “They have made significant contributions towards shaping our Council and government from back in days and still continuing”, said the Executive Mayor.

“We will forever cherish your contributions, and believe that your departure from the Council and local government landscape is not a loss but a gain to the District. You remained loyal and committed members of our movement and I believe you will continue to devote that energy towards supporting our course of bettering the lives of the people of this district and this province Limpopo”, the Executive Mayor said.

Closing his remarks the Executive Mayor quoted the American Poet and Linguist, Henry Longfellow who once said, “Perseverance is a great element of success. If you only knock long enough and loud enough at the gate, you are sure to wake up somebody”. He wished both of them well going forth. The farewell function was attended by Mayors, Speakers and Chief Whips from our Local Municipalities and traditional leaders.
